Lesson overview

This lesson introduces the framework the whole course is built around: five dimensions of entity health, each scored from zero to three, adding up to a score out of fifteen. It explains what each dimension measures, applies the rubric to the demo site, and walks through the Entity Audit Scorecard tool that turns audit data into that score.

What this lesson covers

  • The case for a framework with a measurable finish line
  • Clarity, Coverage, Consistency, Connection and Corroboration in one line each
  • Each dimension applied to real data from the demo site
  • The 0–3 rubric and how to tell when two auditors are disagreeing productively
  • Driving the Scorecard end to end, including saving and comparing
  • The demo site’s score and the fix list it produces

Without a finish line, “improve your entities” is a vibe. The 5C framework breaks entity health into five questions: can a machine tell what a page is about (Clarity), are the right entities and attributes present at all (Coverage), is each entity named the same way everywhere (Consistency), do your entities match things Google already knows (Connection), and does the rest of the web confirm them (Corroboration). Each is scored on a deliberately coarse 0–3 rubric. The lesson argues that a score of two out of three invites a question you can answer from the data, while 67 out of 100 invites one you cannot.

The second half is the Entity Audit Scorecard, a free browser tool that needs no API calls. Loading the built-in MLforSEO baseline produces the demo site’s result: five out of fifteen, with every dimension at one, and the verdict “Machines are guessing about this site.” The lesson shows how to read the verdict, the gauge and the dimension cards, why the fix list is ranked by impact against effort rather than grouped by dimension, and why saving the scorecard as a baseline is the step that turns a one-off project into an audit you can re-run in ninety days.

This lesson completes the core teaching of Module 1, Entity Foundations for Auditors, in The AI-powered Entity Audit, and is followed by a step-by-step practical on the Scorecard before Module 2 begins. It suits anyone who needs to report entity work to a client or stakeholder as a number they can defend and track over time.

In this lesson you’ll cover:

  • Why entity work needs a framework with a finish line, and what a number gives you
  • The five dimensions — Clarity, Coverage, Consistency, Connection and Corroboration — and the question each asks
  • What each dimension needs as data, and what failing looks like on the demo site
  • The 0–3 rubric, and why a coarse score you can defend beats a precise one you cannot
  • The Entity Audit Scorecard tool, step by step, from loading the example to saving a baseline
  • Reading the verdict, the gauge, the dimension cards and the prioritised fix list
  • The demo site scored live: five out of fifteen
  • Your first task: score one page by hand and save the scorecard
