Lesson overview
Before you start, it helps to see how the whole course fits together. This orientation lesson sets out the learning path for the course, from understanding entities through to building knowledge graphs and engineering brand authority for AI search and LLMs. It explains what each module covers, which parts are optional, and which practical resources you will use along the way.
What this lesson covers
- The overall flow of the course and how each module builds on the previous one
- The core modules, from entity-based search in the LLM era to multi-platform brand authority
- The two optional Knowledge Primers on entities and entity extraction, and on knowledge graphs
- The applied masterclass module with live, masterclass-style sessions on a real website
- The workbooks and guides that support the practical lessons
- Slides, optional flashcards and quiz, and where to get help
The course is designed as a practical, systems-focused journey. Core modules are broken into short, focused lessons with concrete examples, mini case studies and tool-driven exercises, such as interrogating Google’s Knowledge Graph, running entity audits and working with the Knowledge Graph API. You start by understanding how search engines and LLMs see brands, then model your own brand as an entity, connect it to knowledge graphs, and finally scale that work into durable authority across platforms. A final applied module brings the most important concepts together on a live website.
The two Knowledge Primers sit alongside the main pathway. They are optional for completing the course, yet they contain much of the hands-on work with entity extraction and the Knowledge Graph API, so they are useful for anyone who wants stronger technical foundations. The lesson also explains how the course resources fit in. The core modules include a set of workbooks and guides, three of which are required practical exercises with their own walk-through lessons: an entity relationship planning workbook, a schema entity audit template and a knowledge graph foundation workbook. There are also guides for knowledge graph implementation and LLM citation tracking. Each module introduction prompts you to download the slide decks, which can serve as a follow-along resource and contain links to the materials mentioned in the videos. The flashcards and quiz in the final module are optional and are not needed for your certificate.
This lesson is part of the Introduction and Overview section and is the best place to begin. It helps anyone taking the course plan their route, decide whether to take the primers, and know where to ask questions through the dedicated student community.
